Adopt-A-Shelf - Shelf Reader

Are you someone who loves order? Does a perfectly arranged bookshelf make your heart smile? Do we have a job for you? Yes, we do! The library is looking for people to "adopt-a-shelf" or a section of the library to keep in order. You would regularly visit your section and put any books out of order into their proper place. In library jargon this is "shelf reading". This is a very important job in the library because once a book is out of order, it is lost and no one will be able to find it. We will provide training in the Dewey Decimal System and also library shelving rules.
Many volunteers are needed.

Request List Retriever

No we are not looking for Goldens or Labradors, but we are looking for people who like to find things and bring them back.
Request List Retrievers locate items on our shelves that patrons have placed on request. Then we notify the patron that their item is ready for pick up. Ability to locate items using the Dewey Decimal system is a must. We will train you to print out the reports from our computer system. We are looking for approximately 5 Retrievers, and being a Retriever requires the ability to reach, bend and stretch.
Morning, afternoon, and evening shifts are available. A shift lasts from 1.5 hours to 4 hours, depending on the size of the request list.

LEGO Sorter

Do you like to work with your hands? Do you love order? We are looking for 3-6 people to help sort Legos.
On the 1st Friday of each month, our children and their families attend a Lego Build called Bricks to Books. We put the amazing creations on display. The week before the next build, everything is taken apart and sorted by color. This is where you come in. We are looking for 3-6 volunteers who will take apart Lego creations and sort the bricks by color. Volunteers needed to work the last week of the month, Tuesday evenings would be perfect but we can work around your schedule. One - two hour shifts available.

Math Tutors for Middle and High School Students

Math tutors with experience working with students in middle and high school. Tutors need to be available from 5:30-7:30PM Wednesday evenings, twice a month. Tutors will need to pass a criminal background check.
Wednesday evenings from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
